Age categories
A master competitor can compete in a Masters event in a year when he/she reaches the lower limit of the age category, i.e. in the 35-39 age group in the year of his or her 35th birthday. In K2 or K4 events the age of the younger competitor will determine the category which a crew can compete in. (Example: 1st person is 35, 2nd person is 46. this boat has to compete in the age category 35/39 years). Age group categories will commence from age 35-39 an increase upward in 5-year age intervals.

Only those competitors may participate in the competitions, who did not take part at any national or international senior competitions in the years 2010 or 2011.
